 Outside Visitation Policy

Nursing homes have been severely impacted by COVID-19, with outbreaks causing high rates of infection, morbidity, and mortality. The vulnerable nature of the nursing home population combined with the inherent risk of congregate living in a healthcare setting have required aggressive efforts to limit COVID-19 exposure and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within nursing homes. On September 17, 2020, CMS revised the guidance regarding visitation in nursing homes during the pandemic to recommend outdoor visitation and indoor visitation under the following guidelines.

The facility will accommodate outdoor visitation based on the following guidelines:

  • There has been no new onset of COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days and the facility is not currently conducting outbreak testing.

  • Residents and family members will be divided by a plexiglass screen to accommodate 6 ft. social distancing in a designated visitation area.

  • Family members visiting will be limited to 2 members per visit. Each member will be screened by a designated staff member for COVID-19 symptoms according to CDC’s updated COVID-19 screening questions. Family members will need to be wearing a mask at all times and perform hand hygiene.

  • Residents will be accompanied by a designated staff member who will also sanitize the area prior to and after each visit.

  • Visitations will be limited to no more than 4 visits per day. Visits will be no more than 30 mins. Families will be able to schedule their visitations online at theridgepostacute.com and/or by phone with the Social Services/Activities Department.

  • Children < 12 years of age are not permitted.
